Technology That Benefits You
Latest technology in braces and wires.
In the past, orthodontists would use heavy forces to move teeth. Today in orthodontics we utilize light forces and low friction to move teeth faster and more gently than ever before. The results are outstanding. The patients in our office benefit from our use of these latest technologies in the following ways:
- Treatment is more gentle than in the past, so your teeth won’t get as sore.
- Treatment time can be much shorter because your teeth are continually moving.
- Appointments are typically 7–10 weeks apart; this means you miss less school.
- Smaller braces on your teeth are easier to keep clean and are more comfortable.
- These braces also come in a clear version for a more aesthetic look.
- Fewer extractions (over 90% of our patients do not need teeth removed).
- Shorter appointments.
- More stable/permanent treatment results.
Direct Digital X-Ray Imaging
We care about your overall health, that is why we have a direct digital x-ray machine, which uses 86% less radiation than traditional radiographic machines and provides us with sharper and more detailed images. It takes only seconds to take and view the x-rays.
Digital Patient Models
This computer imaging program lets us create digital 3D images of your teeth from which Dr. Davies can more effectively diagnose and treatment plan your case.
Computer Software
Davies Orthodontics is an almost completely “paperless” practice that utilizes the most superior imaging and practice management software available on the market. This allows us to stay on time for our patients, as well as offer convenient appointment times. We at Davies Orthodontics are doing our part to be a “green” practice and always working on making the future a bright place!
Online Appointment and Financial Information
Anytime of the day or night you can go online to your password protected account and find out information about your appointments as well as financial history. You can also look at your initial photographs and x-rays. This same system allows for you to receive confirmation phone calls, e-mails, or text messages.
Fixed Retainers
Even more important than a great final result the day braces come off, is to be able to maintain that great result for years to come. Dr. Davies uses a variety of retainers to achieve this goal. A fixed retainer (bonded to the back surfaces of the front teeth) is used to hold the teeth in position, and a clear retainer is worn at night. We have found this retainer routine keeps the teeth straight, limits the number of lost or broken retainers, prevents wear from night time grinding, and is easy to comply with.
